Belarus Defence Delegation Holds High-Level Talks With Pakistan Air Chief on Aerospace Cooperation

A high-level Belarus Delegation met Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss expanding defence, aerospace and military cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus. The visiting delegation was led by Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

The two sides held detailed discussions on bilateral defence cooperation, military-to-military engagement, industrial partnerships, joint training programmes and collaboration in emerging aerospace technologies. Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two friendly nations through deeper strategic cooperation.

More than 100 words into the meeting, the Belarus Delegation reviewed opportunities to enhance joint exercises, technical collaboration and defence industrial partnerships. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization programme, indigenous capabilities and operational readiness. He emphasized that stronger military cooperation, technology sharing and professional exchanges would further deepen bilateral relations and benefit both air forces.

The Air Chief also reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to expanding cooperation in advanced training, operational coordination and aerospace innovation. He said sustained engagement between the two countries would create new opportunities for defence collaboration and technological development.

Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich praised the Pakistan Air Force’s operational preparedness, technological progress and growing self-reliance under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. He described the PAF as a model for modern air forces and expressed confidence that stronger cooperation would produce meaningful results in defence, aerospace and training.

The Belarusian military leader also showed strong interest in developing joint ventures with the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP). He described the institution as a leading innovation hub that is advancing aerospace and aviation through cutting-edge technologies and collaborative research.

The visit highlighted the growing momentum in Pakistan-Belarus defence relations and underscored both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation across the defence, aviation and aerospace sectors through long-term strategic partnerships.
