American political commentator Tucker Carlson has claimed that US President Donald Trump could face pressure to launch a nuclear strike against Iran under influence from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a lengthy post on social media platform X, Carlson alleged that Netanyahu was pushing the Trump administration towards military action against Iran. He linked the alleged pressure to Netanyahu’s political difficulties following Israel’s recent election.
Carlson claimed that the Israeli prime minister was seeking another conflict to strengthen his political position. He also alleged that Netanyahu was pressing allies within the Trump administration to support a strike against Iran.
Carlson identified the suspected underground facility at Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran as a possible target.
He claimed that the facility was located beneath deep layers of solid granite. According to his post, conventional US weapons might not be capable of reaching the underground tunnels.
Carlson therefore suggested that a nuclear weapon could be considered as a military option. However, he provided no publicly verifiable evidence that the Trump administration was planning or considering a nuclear strike.

He also alleged that Netanyahu was lobbying senior US officials to support military action rather than pursue a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.
Carlson’s claims came after Trump made remarks about possible further military action against Iran.
Speaking to reporters in Florida, Trump said the United States had severely damaged Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities. However, he added that one or two sites remained to be addressed.
“We’ve knocked out their nuclear. We still have to take care of, I would say one or two sites, but we can do that in 10 minutes,” Trump said.
He also referred to Pickaxe Mountain as a possible target, describing the remaining action as something the United States could carry out quickly. Iran has denied conducting nuclear activities at the site.
Carlson’s statements remain allegations and do not establish that Washington has decided to use nuclear weapons against Iran.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on October 31 that Trump had not made a decision about launching further strikes. He also said Washington remained open to a diplomatic solution.
The remarks come amid continuing tensions between the United States, Israel and Iran. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are seeking to prevent a renewed escalation of the conflict.
