Stroke Centres are being established across Punjab to provide faster medical care to patients, Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari said on Wednesday.
She said the initiative marks the first province-wide effort to establish dedicated centres for stroke treatment and management.

She said 710 TNK injections are available at operational stroke centres. The availability of the injections will help doctors provide timely treatment to eligible stroke patients.
Bokhari said patients would no longer need to travel to major cities for stroke treatment. The government aims to bring quality medical care closer to patients’ homes.
The minister said the Punjab government continues to expand free healthcare services across the province.
Government hospitals provide free medicines to patients, she said. Medical tests are also available free of cost at these facilities.
Bokhari said Punjab is expanding the scope of its healthcare initiatives. She added that people from other provinces also travel to Punjab to seek medical treatment.
The minister said the provincial government is taking further steps to improve healthcare services and provide timely treatment to patients.
