The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained in positive territory at midday on Thursday, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 1,136.74 points, or 0.69%, to reach 166,873.49 points.
The index had closed at 165,736.75 points in the previous session. During Thursday’s trading, it moved between 165,907.29 and 167,483.48 points, reflecting continued buying interest after a higher opening.
Trading volume reached approximately 191 million shares by early afternoon, while the value of shares traded stood at around Rs12.27 billion.
The advance marked the fourth consecutive session of gains for the benchmark index.
On Wednesday, the KSE-100 closed at 165,736.76 points, rising 1,269.55 points, or 0.77%. Stronger-than-expected corporate results and improved investor sentiment supported the previous session’s advance.
Market participants continued to focus on selected stocks, particularly in the fertiliser, banking and power sectors, which had contributed to the recent gains.

Trading activity remained moderate compared with Wednesday’s higher turnover, as investors assessed whether the market could sustain its recovery near the 167,000-point level.
Analysts said the midday advance reflected the positive trend of recent sessions. However, they cautioned that investors could book profits if share prices rose further.
The index’s position above the previous close kept market sentiment positive heading into the afternoon session.
