PSDP projects must be completed on time, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday as he directed the relevant authorities to speed up work on nationally significant development schemes. He said efficient implementation and high-quality execution would improve public welfare, create jobs and strengthen Pakistan’s long-term economic growth.
The prime minister issued the directives during a meeting with Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, who briefed him on the progress of ongoing projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
Ahsan Iqbal presented a detailed update on the implementation of development projects and outlined the government’s future plans, priorities and development strategy.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the timely completion of national development projects remains one of the government’s highest priorities. He instructed all ministries, departments and implementing agencies to complete strategic projects within the approved timelines while maintaining the highest construction and implementation standards.
The prime minister also called for stronger coordination among government institutions and urged all stakeholders to accelerate the pace of work so the public could benefit from development initiatives as quickly as possible.
The meeting reviewed the progress of key national development projects and discussed future priorities, implementation strategies and development targets designed to support Pakistan’s long-term economic and social development.
