GHOTKI, July 17, 2026: PPRP Ghotki continues to expand economic opportunities in rural Sindh, with women manufacturing solar inverters and local businesses creating new jobs through support from the People’s Poverty Reduction Programme (PPRP), Sindh government spokesperson Sukhdev Asardas Hemnani said during a visit to the district.

Hemnani visited several enterprises established under the programme and said PPRP has helped nearly two million households move out of poverty across Sindh through initiatives focused on sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and women’s economic empowerment.

He said the programme reflects the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari by helping people become financially independent through employment and business opportunities rather than long-term dependence on assistance.

During his visit, Hemnani toured the Power Liner PV Inverter & Battery Charger Factory, which was established under PPRP’s Enterprise Development Fund. He said it was encouraging to see women from marginalised communities manufacturing solar inverters that are supplied across Pakistan.

The factory employs dozens of workers, including women involved in electronic assembly. Hemnani said women in Ghotki are increasing household incomes while demonstrating that rural communities can succeed in advanced manufacturing when they receive the right support.

He also visited a garments manufacturing unit that expanded into a modern business after receiving an interest-free loan of Rs1 million through PPRP. The enterprise now employs 37 local young people and contributes to the area’s economy.

Hemnani later inspected an indoor and outdoor plant nursery that also grew with support from an interest-free loan. The nursery now supplies ornamental plants and provides sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents.

He praised the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) for implementing the programme and reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment, under Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, to expanding projects that promote financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth across rural Sindh.
