NBP: National Bank digitises BEOE fee payments with Raast QR solution

NBP has partnered with the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BEOE) to introduce a digital fee collection system for walk-in applicants, marking another step in Pakistan’s public sector digital transformation.

The agreement was signed by National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President and CEO Rehmat Ali Hasnie and BEOE Director General Javed Zia.

Under the partnership, NBP will enable Raast Person-to-Merchant (P2M) QR code-based digital fee payments for BEOE applicants. The system allows users to make instant, secure and convenient payments while improving operational efficiency, transparency and customer experience.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rehmat Ali Hasnie said digital payment systems play a vital role in advancing Pakistan’s transition towards a modern and cashless economy. He attended the event alongside Adnan Nasir, Group Chief and Chief Digital Officer at NBP.

The bank said the initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting digital financial services and reducing reliance on cash transactions across government institutions.

NBP has expanded its digital payment network by onboarding several public and private sector organisations. These include the National Highways & Motorway Police, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), the University of the Punjab, WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society Gujranwala, Federal Science College, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) and other government organisations.

The Digital Banking Group coordinated the partnership under the leadership of Farhan Durrani, Zohaib Ali Khan and Adnan Nasir, while Imran Gull, Ahmad Ali Athar and officials from BEOE also supported the collaboration.

NBP said it will continue expanding digital payment solutions across Pakistan to strengthen secure, efficient and inclusive financial services while accelerating the country’s transition to a digital economy.
