Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited (KMBL) has won two awards at the Pakistan Microfinance Network’s 10th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-X). The bank received the Best Turnaround Microfinance Bank and Best Housing Finance MFB awards.

Additionally, KMBL diversified its lending portfolio and invested in technology to improve credit assessment. The bank also established a dedicated loan verification function and deployed specialised teams to improve collections and recoveries.

According to the bank, these measures helped build a stronger and more resilient institution.

Improved Financial Performance Earns Turnaround Award

The Best Turnaround Microfinance Bank award recognises KMBL’s reported financial recovery in fiscal year 2025.

The bank moved from a pre-tax loss of Rs3.6 billion in FY2024 to a pre-tax profit of Rs4 billion in FY2025. This represents a positive financial swing of Rs7.6 billion.

KMBL also reported improvements in key portfolio risk indicators. Its portfolio at risk over 90 days (PAR90) declined from 6.2% to 3.8%, indicating an improvement in the reported quality of its loan portfolio.

Housing Finance Portfolio Records Growth

KMBL also received the Best Housing Finance MFB award for its work in low-cost housing finance.

According to the bank, its housing finance borrower base grew by 47%, while its housing portfolio expanded by 56% during the reported period.

Furthermore, the bank reported total housing and home improvement disbursements of Rs21 billion as of September 2026.

KMBL has also supported government-backed housing finance initiatives to help eligible households access home loans.

Meanwhile, under the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Scheme, KMBL had approved 437 loans and disbursed approximately Rs945 million by September 2026.

KMBL Reaffirms Commitment to Financial Inclusion

The two awards highlight KMBL’s stated focus on financial recovery and broader access to financial services.

Founded in 2000, Khushhali Microfinance Bank provides savings, credit, insurance, remittance and digital banking services to rural and urban customers across Pakistan.

Headquartered in Islamabad, the bank operates a nationwide network and serves micro-entrepreneurs and communities with limited access to financial services.

KMBL said it would continue strengthening its institutional capacity while expanding financial inclusion and supporting affordable housing, agricultural development and small businesses across the country.
