KARACHI, August 21, 2026: Gold prices continued their upward trend for a second consecutive day, with international and local rates rising sharply on Friday.
In the international bullion market, gold gained $52 per ounce, reaching $4,547 per ounce.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the local gold price jumped Rs5,200 per tola to Rs477,136.
The price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs4,458, reaching Rs409,067.
Silver followed gold’s upward movement in the local market.
The price of silver increased by Rs210 per tola to Rs7,379. The price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs180 to Rs6,326.

Gold has recorded a sharp increase over the past two trading sessions.
On Thursday, the price of gold rose by Rs13,700 per tola to Rs471,936. The price of 10 grams increased by Rs11,746 to Rs404,609.
With Friday’s increase, gold has gained Rs18,900 per tola in just two days.
Silver also gained Rs317 per tola on Thursday, reaching Rs7,169.
The latest rally follows a brief decline earlier in the week.
On Wednesday, gold fell by Rs3,700 per tola to Rs458,236 despite a more than 3% rise in international gold prices.
On Tuesday, the local gold price remained unchanged at Rs461,936 per tola.
On Monday, gold gained Rs2,000 per tola, reaching Rs461,936.
The latest surge has pushed local gold prices significantly higher as international bullion rates continue to strengthen.
