Pakistan has called for the early implementation of a two-state solution to the Palestine dispute. It reiterated its support for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said Pakistan remained committed to peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
The spokesperson discussed the R4 foreign ministers’ meetings held in Istanbul on October 23. The participating countries reviewed regional developments, including Palestine, Yemen, tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran, and security concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
The R4 group comprises Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Its foreign ministers also met counterparts from France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom in an expanded meeting.
The ministers called for an end to Israeli violence in Gaza and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance for Palestinians. They also supported diplomatic efforts to achieve a negotiated two-state solution.
