Maqsood Ahmad Naz, Deputy Convenor of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Corporate Relations and Communications, has highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in business growth, industrial transformation and sustainable economic development.
Naz, who is also CEO of Olympia (Private) Limited, said AI has become an essential tool for businesses seeking to improve productivity, operational efficiency and global competitiveness.
He emphasised that companies should no longer view AI as a technology of the future. Instead, businesses and industries should explore its practical applications to improve performance and support long-term growth.
Naz said AI can support several key business functions, including planning, decision-making, procurement and supply chain management.
He also highlighted its potential to improve production efficiency, strengthen quality control, reduce waste and conserve energy.

In sales and marketing, AI-powered tools can help businesses improve branding and reach customers more effectively. Meanwhile, robotics and automation can support industrial operations and reduce workers’ exposure to hazardous environments.
Naz identified railway operations, power plants and heavy industries as areas where these technologies could improve workplace safety and help protect human lives.
Naz stressed that Pakistan’s business community must prepare for the growing use of AI in the global economy.
He called for greater awareness, capacity building and practical training to help entrepreneurs and industrialists understand and adopt the technology.
According to Naz, businesses that integrate AI strategically can strengthen their operations and remain competitive as industries become increasingly technology-driven.
However, he cautioned that AI adoption must go hand in hand with responsible governance and appropriate safeguards.
Naz highlighted several risks associated with the misuse of AI, including privacy violations, cybersecurity threats, unauthorised data access, fraud and misinformation.
He said businesses must establish safeguards to protect sensitive information and ensure the responsible use of AI-powered systems.
Naz also stressed the importance of protecting family relationships, social harmony and human trust from the harmful consequences of irresponsible technology use.
He called for a balanced approach that encourages innovation while addressing ethical and social concerns.
Naz appreciated the role of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Corporate Relations and Communications in promoting AI awareness, business facilitation and training initiatives for Pakistan’s business community.
He said collaboration between business leaders and relevant institutions could help companies better understand emerging technologies and identify opportunities for practical implementation.
Naz concluded that AI should strengthen human capabilities rather than replace human intelligence and judgement.
He urged entrepreneurs, industrialists and corporate leaders to adopt AI strategically to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base, support economic growth and build a sustainable future.
“Let us embrace Artificial Intelligence as a catalyst for business excellence, industrial advancement, and a smarter, stronger, and more sustainable Pakistan,” he said.
