KARACHI: FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) has deployed a 450kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system at its Nara Dairy Farm.
The project also includes a 255kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
DSG Energy was awarded the project, which forms part of FCEPL’s efforts to strengthen its clean energy infrastructure.
The integrated system is designed to improve energy resilience and operational efficiency at the dairy facility.
FCEPL CEO and Managing Director Kashan Hasan said the project reflects the company’s focus on energy-conscious operations.
“This installation represents the futuristic, energy-conscious mindset that guides us at FCEPL,” Hasan said.
He added that the company plans to expand its solar footprint further.
The company already uses solar energy at its production facilities.
Hasan said extending renewable energy to the dairy farm supports FCEPL’s wider sustainability goals.
He linked the initiative to the company’s “Grass to Glass” journey and its focus on environmental and community responsibility.

The project combines on-site solar generation with battery storage.
The system is designed to increase the use of renewable energy generated at the facility.
It will also reduce reliance on conventional fuel-based power generation.
According to FCEPL, the system could help lower energy costs while improving the reliability of power supplies for critical farm operations.
The battery system will allow the facility to store renewable electricity for use when required.
DSG Energy CEO Daniyal Siddiqui said the project demonstrates the potential of integrated clean energy systems.
“At DSG Energy, we believe the transition toward clean energy is not only about generating renewable power, but about building intelligent energy systems that deliver reliability, efficiency, and long-term value,” Siddiqui said.
He said DSG Energy was proud to support FCEPL’s sustainability efforts.
The project combines renewable generation and energy storage rather than relying on solar generation alone.
The FCEPL project comes as businesses across Pakistan explore alternatives to conventional power sources.
Companies are increasingly considering solar generation alongside battery storage and energy management systems.
The approach can help businesses manage energy consumption and improve resilience against power supply challenges.
For agricultural operations, reliable electricity is particularly important for maintaining essential farm activities.
FCEPL said the Nara Dairy Farm project forms part of its broader vision to integrate renewable energy across its operations.
The company also said the initiative supports its environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability objectives.
The project adds to Pakistan’s growing adoption of renewable energy solutions across industrial and agricultural operations.
