ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President and South Asian Olympic Council President Arif Saeed has been elected to the Executive Board of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA).
Saeed will serve as the Regional Representative for Asia and Europe for the 2026–2029 term.
The election took place during the 15th ISSA General Assembly in Taif, Saudi Arabia. The ISSA represents 57 member National Olympic Committees.
Saeed brings extensive leadership experience from the corporate sector. He has also contributed to sports administration and initiatives that support youth development and participation in sport.
His election gives Pakistan a stronger voice in ISSA decision-making. It also creates an opportunity to support greater cooperation among member National Olympic Committees.
Saeed’s new role will focus on areas that affect athletes and sports development across the ISSA membership.

The ISSA Executive Board provides a platform to promote athlete development and welfare.
Saeed can also use the position to support stronger institutional cooperation among Olympic committees across Asia and Europe.
In addition, his experience in sports administration and youth-focused initiatives could contribute to broader participation in sport.
The appointment further strengthens Pakistan’s representation in regional and international sports bodies.
It also gives the country an opportunity to contribute to discussions on athlete welfare, sports development and cooperation among member National Olympic Committees.
Saeed will serve on the ISSA Executive Board throughout the 2026–2029 term.
