Hania Aamir has spoken out after a video showing police action at a Karachi sit-in involving families of Pakistani sailors began circulating online.
The actor shared the video on her Instagram Story. The footage appeared to show police disrupting a protest near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs liaison office.
The sit-in involved relatives of Pakistani sailors who have reportedly been held hostage by Somali pirates since April.
Aamir described the situation as part of a recurring and troubling pattern in Pakistan. She said people move from one tragedy to another without seeing meaningful accountability.
Aamir called the situation “deeply frightening” in her Instagram Story.
She questioned where accountability disappears between one crisis and the next.
The actor also asked how much more the public is expected to witness before meaningful change takes place.
Her comments came after some sailors’ family members said police briefly detained them on the morning of a planned march.

Police gave a different account of the incident. Authorities said officers had only engaged with protesters and asked them to leave the area.
Police also denied using force to disperse the families.
The Karachi sit-in forms part of a wider campaign by the sailors’ families.
Relatives have staged several protests over the past five months. They have urged the government to take action for the sailors’ safe release.
The protests have so far failed to produce significant progress, according to the families.
The sailors have reportedly remained in captivity since April. Their relatives continue to seek government intervention.
Hania Aamir is not the only Pakistani celebrity to raise her voice for the sailors.
Mahira Khan, Sabeena Farooq and Talha Anjum have also publicly called for their safe recovery.
Aamir has frequently used her large social media platform to comment on social and humanitarian issues.
She previously addressed the importance of humanity during an event at the UK Parliament. She argued that political differences should not prevent people from showing compassion.
The actor has also been open about her own personal experiences.
Earlier this year, Aamir reflected on 2025 and described it as a year that brought both extremely difficult and deeply positive experiences.
She has also spoken about experiencing panic while continuing to work on screen.
Her comments have given fans a glimpse into challenges behind her public image.
Aamir was last seen in the popular drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.
She is also attached to Netflix’s Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.
The project features Sanam Saeed, Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan alongside Aamir.
Her latest comments show how the actor continues to use her public platform beyond entertainment. This time, she has drawn attention to the plight of sailors’ families and their demand for answers.
