The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has appointed Dr Azhar Rashid as Chief of Oncology Services, strengthening its cancer care network in Karachi and Sukkur.
Dr Rashid brings extensive experience in clinical and radiation oncology. His expertise includes medical oncology, radiation oncology and stereotactic radiosurgery.
The appointment will support SIUT’s efforts to further develop cancer treatment services and expand specialised care across its facilities.
Dr Rashid holds an MSc in Oncology from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. He is also an FCPS-qualified oncologist.
His professional expertise covers several areas of cancer treatment. These include medical oncology, radiation oncology and advanced stereotactic radiosurgery.

His experience will help SIUT strengthen its specialised oncology services and support patients across its cancer care network.
As Chief of Oncology Services, Dr Rashid will oversee SIUT’s medical and radiation oncology services.
His responsibilities will cover the institution’s cancer service line across facilities in Karachi and Sukkur.
Dr Rashid will primarily work from the Mehrunnisa Medical Complex in Karachi.
The role will also involve supporting the development and coordination of oncology services across SIUT’s wider healthcare network.
Dr Rashid’s appointment comes as SIUT continues to develop its cancer treatment services.
The institution provides healthcare free of cost. It also emphasises dignity and equal treatment for patients without discrimination.
With his background in different fields of oncology, Dr Rashid will contribute to SIUT’s efforts to improve cancer care and strengthen specialised medical and radiation services.
His appointment adds further expertise to the institution’s oncology team and supports its broader commitment to accessible healthcare.
