KARACHI, August 17, 2026: Employees of Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC) carried out a National Flag Collection Drive across Karachi to collect national flags and buntings left in public areas after Independence Day celebrations.
Employee volunteers covered several parts of the city, including Steel Town, Surjani Town, Orangi Town, Maripur, Super Highway and Airmen Club Road.
The volunteers collected flags and buntings from roads, pavements and other public spaces. They then brought the collected items to IMC for handling under the company’s established process.
The annual initiative aims to promote respect for the national flag while encouraging employees to take part in community-focused activities.
The National Flag Collection Drive operates under IMC’s Employee Volunteering Program and its CSR platform, Concern Beyond Cars.
The initiative has become an annual employee-led tradition at the company. It brings together staff members to recover national flags following the August 14 celebrations.

The volunteers focus on flags that remain on roads and other public areas after the festivities. Their efforts help prevent national flags from being left in places where they could be damaged or treated disrespectfully.
Ali Asghar Jamali, Chief Executive Officer of Indus Motor Company Limited, said the company’s connection with Pakistan extends beyond its manufacturing operations.
“Toyota has grown with Pakistan and our pride in this country goes far beyond the vehicles we manufacture,” Jamali said.
He said the national flag represents Pakistan, its people and the country’s future.
“Respecting its dignity is a simple responsibility, but an important one,” he said. Jamali also praised IMC employees for taking ownership of the initiative.
The drive reflects IMC’s broader focus on employee volunteering and corporate social responsibility.
By involving employees directly, the company encourages staff to contribute to community initiatives beyond their regular professional roles.
The collection effort also promotes awareness about the respectful treatment of national symbols after major public celebrations.
IMC said the initiative will continue as part of its annual volunteering tradition, bringing employees together to support responsible civic practices across Karachi.
