PSX Rally gathered momentum on Thursday as strong buying interest lifted the benchmark KSE-100 Index close to the 182,000-point mark during intraday trading. Investors remained confident, driving gains across several heavyweight sectors despite some late-session profit-taking that reduced the market’s earlier advance. The positive sentiment reflected renewed confidence in Pakistan’s equity market as trading activity stayed robust throughout the day.
Buying activity remained concentrated in automobile assemblers, cement manufacturers, chemical companies, commercial banks, fertiliser firms, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies, and power generation stocks. PSX Rally continued to attract investors after the market maintained its upward momentum from recent sessions, with institutional and retail participants actively building positions in blue-chip shares.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index traded around 181,397.01 points in early dealings at 9:42am before climbing to an intraday high of 181,687.19. However, investors booked profits later in the session, causing the index to retreat from its peak while still holding significant gains.

Trading volumes remained healthy as investors exchanged 189.26 million shares, while the total value of traded shares reached Rs17.63 billion, highlighting sustained market participation despite intraday fluctuations.
The latest advance follows the PSX’s recent recovery above the 180,000-point level, reinforcing optimism that investor confidence remains strong as key sectors continue to attract buying interest.
