KARACHI: Spotify Earnings for the second quarter of 2026 marked a historic milestone as the company became the first audio streaming platform to surpass 300 million Premium Subscribers. The company also reported strong revenue growth, record profitability, and continued expansion of its global user base, highlighting sustained demand for its music and audio services.

Spotify said its latest financial results reflect continued investment in product innovation, creator tools, and user engagement. The company added that it remains focused on helping artists, authors, creators, and partners reach larger audiences while improving the listening experience.
More than 100 words into the quarter, Spotify Earnings continued to demonstrate the platform’s global momentum. Premium Subscribers increased 9% year-on-year to 300 million, while Monthly Active Users (MAUs) rose 12% to 777 million.
Total revenue reached €4.8 billion, representing 14% year-on-year growth, or 15% on a constant currency basis. Spotify also reported a record gross margin of 33.4%, an improvement of approximately 193 basis points from a year earlier.
Operating income climbed to €655 million, reflecting stronger operational performance and continued business growth.
Spotify Co-Chief Executive Officer Alex Norström said the company’s scale now places it among a small group of global technology businesses with significant long-term growth opportunities.
He said Spotify has become part of users’ daily routines, from commuting and exercising to studying, gaming, dining, and sleeping. He added that the platform’s scale creates opportunities to introduce new experiences that match evolving user needs.
Co-Chief Executive Officer Gustav Söderström said the company’s latest results demonstrate that Spotify is already delivering on the long-term strategy outlined during its Investor Day.
He said Spotify continues to improve engineering capabilities, launch products faster, and develop new ways for users to engage with content. He added that the company will maintain disciplined investments while focusing on technology that creates long-term value for users and stakeholders.
Since launching in 2008, Spotify has transformed digital music streaming by giving users access to more than 100 million tracks. Today, the platform serves 777 million users, including 300 million Premium Subscribers, across 184 markets worldwide.
The latest quarterly performance reinforces Spotify’s position as the world’s largest audio streaming subscription service and highlights its continued focus on innovation, creator support, and sustainable business growth.
