Sindh Films took center stage as the Film Oversight Board of the Information Department met under the chairmanship of Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon to review the progress of ongoing film projects and discuss strategies to promote the province’s creative industry.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Kashif Gulzar Sheikh, Director General Information Moiz Pirzada, Director Films Hizbullah Memon, board members Zhalay Sarhadi and Waqas Rizvi, along with other senior officials.
Board members conducted a comprehensive review of film projects currently under the Information Department’s management. They also discussed project completion timelines, domestic and international distribution, participation in global film festivals, private-sector collaboration, digital releases, and modern advertising strategies.

The meeting focused on expanding the reach of Sindh government-backed films through OTT platforms and social media to ensure wider audience engagement both in Pakistan and abroad.
Addressing the participants, Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Sindh government is taking practical steps to strengthen the film and creative industries. He noted that high-quality films offer an effective way to showcase Pakistan’s and Sindh’s culture, history, tourism, and social values to international audiences.
He emphasized that every film project should meet modern production standards and align with international quality benchmarks to compete in global markets.
The senior minister said digital platforms have become essential to the success of the film industry. He directed officials to maximize the use of OTT services and social media to increase the visibility of Sindh’s film projects.
Sharjeel Inam Memon added that promoting the film industry will create new opportunities for young filmmakers, directors, writers, and artists while strengthening Sindh’s positive image at both national and international levels.
