Malaysian students in Pakistan gathered in Karachi as the Consulate General of Malaysia, in collaboration with the Pakistan Malaysia Students Association (PPMP) and students from Jamiah Binoria Aalamia, organised an engagement programme to strengthen ties with the Malaysian student community.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Yasin, followed by welcoming remarks from a student representative and Malaysian Consul General Herman Hardynata Ahmad.

The Consul General welcomed newly arrived students and encouraged them as they began their academic journey in Pakistan. He also shared guidance on making the most of their educational experience while representing Malaysia abroad.

During his address, Herman Hardynata Ahmad announced that he would conclude his diplomatic tenure in Karachi at the end of the month.

The programme included a certificate and prize distribution ceremony recognising students for their participation and achievements.

Participants later attended a fellowship gathering, where students prepared and served traditional Kelantanese dishes, including Nasi Kerabu, steamed chocolate cake and green bean porridge, highlighting Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage.

The event provided an opportunity for students, consulate officials and their families to interact in an informal setting, strengthening friendships and fostering a stronger sense of community among Malaysians living in Pakistan.

Organisers said the programme reflected the continued commitment of the Consulate General of Malaysia and the Pakistan Malaysia Students Association to supporting Malaysian students and promoting cultural connections during their studies abroad.
