AC Milan ended Inter Milan’s unbeaten start to the Serie A season with a 3-1 victory in Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina. Meanwhile, Roma moved within one point of the joint leaders after thrashing Udinese 5-2.
Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot gave Milan a two-goal lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Alessandro Bastoni pulled one back for Inter before Diego Moreira restored Milan’s two-goal advantage shortly before half-time.
Moreira played a decisive role in the victory. The Belgian provided assists for Milan’s first two goals before scoring directly from a free-kick in the 43rd minute.
Milan coach Ruben Amorim praised the atmosphere and his players after the match.
“The environment is amazing,” Amorim told DAZN. “The passion is completely different from any derby I have played.”
He added that the victory would strengthen supporters’ confidence in the project, while acknowledging that the team would experience both successful nights and disappointing results during its development.

The win extended Milan’s unbeaten run in the derby to eight matches. It also lifted the Rossoneri into fourth place, four points behind joint leaders Inter and Lazio.
Roma climbed to third place with 24 points, just one behind the leaders.
The iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza provided the setting for an intense derby, just days after both clubs revealed plans for a new stadium in 2031.
Milan started aggressively and opened the scoring inside four minutes. Moreira delivered a cross that Pulisic headed into the net.
The American forward had recently signed a five-year contract extension with the Rossoneri.
Moreira then created Milan’s second goal from a corner. Rabiot met his delivery and sent a clever finish through a crowded penalty area and into the net off the far post.
Inter responded midway through the first half. Bastoni headed home from close range after a corner to reduce the deficit.
The goal sparked a strong spell for the Nerazzurri. However, goalkeeper Mike Maignan kept Milan ahead with several important saves.
He denied Hakan Calhanoglu before producing an outstanding one-handed stop to keep out Djed Spence.
Milan then struck against the run of play. Moreira curled a free-kick over the defensive wall and into the top corner two minutes before half-time.
The second half developed into a more cautious contest as Inter searched for another goal.
Carlos Augusto missed a promising headed opportunity as the visitors tried to reduce the deficit.
Inter also won a penalty for an alleged handball, but the referee overturned the decision after a VAR review.
Milan substitute Alphadjo Cisse came close to adding another goal late in the match. His curling effort forced Josep Martinez into a flying save.
Milan held on to secure a 3-1 victory and hand Inter their first league defeat of the season.
Roma strengthened their title challenge with a convincing 5-2 away victory over Udinese.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s unbeaten side produced a dominant first-half display and scored four goals before the break.
Bryan Cristante opened the scoring before Rodrigo Mora, Donyell Malen and Evan Ndicka added further goals.

Roma also struck the woodwork twice during an impressive attacking performance.
Udinese improved after half-time. Nicolo Zaniolo scored against his former club, while Matteo Palma added another goal with a volley.
However, Daniele Ghilardi scored Roma’s fifth in stoppage time to complete the victory.
The result left Roma third with 24 points, one behind joint leaders Inter and Lazio. Lazio could move clear at the top when they host Cagliari on Sunday.
Udinese remained 19th with five points after extending their winless run to eight matches.
Earlier, Bologna secured their third consecutive league victory with a 2-1 comeback win over Monza.
Monza’s Gustavo Varela, the league’s leading scorer, opened the scoring from the penalty spot with his ninth goal of the season.

Tommaso Pobega and Federico Bernardeschi then scored to put Bologna ahead.
Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski preserved the victory by saving a late penalty from Patrick Cutrone.
The win moved Bologna into ninth place in the Serie A standings.
