The event followed the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.” The theme emphasised the importance of listening to people’s experiences and acknowledging their struggles.
The chairman also recognised women’s important role in strengthening families and society. He stressed that greater awareness and understanding can help create a more supportive environment for people facing mental health challenges.
Shahid Ahmed praised Karwan-e-Hayat for its work since 1983. He reaffirmed KPT’s support for the organisation’s mission to provide free and subsidised psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation and community-based mental healthcare to underprivileged people.
Describing its work as “not merely healthcare, but service to humanity,” he appreciated the organisation’s contribution to mental health services.
Meanwhile, other speakers highlighted the challenges young people face in the digital age. They also discussed the impact of climate change on community well-being.
The event called for stronger awareness, better access to mental healthcare and greater public understanding to help people seek support without fear of stigma.
