Israel has reportedly ordered the British consulate in occupied East Jerusalem to close within 30 days, according to Israeli public broadcaster KAN.
British diplomats stationed at the consulate could lose their accreditation after the deadline, KAN reported.
The reported decision came shortly after Britain announced new measures targeting Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced the measures in the House of Commons on Tuesday.
The UK plans to ban imports from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Britain also announced sanctions against companies and individuals accused of supporting settlement expansion.
Additional sanctions will target extremist Israeli settlers accused of supporting or encouraging violence against Palestinians.

Miliband also said Britain would reject new arms export licences for items that materially contribute to the occupation.
The government will maintain the suspension of 30 existing licences, he added.
Miliband said the British government agrees that Palestinians are facing what he described as “ethnic cleansing” in the occupied West Bank.
He attributed the situation to Israeli settlers whom he described as “settler terrorists.”
The UK measures add to growing international pressure over Israeli settlement activity.
Britain, France and Canada have also taken measures linked to Israeli settlements and support for a two-state solution.
Israeli opposition figures have repeatedly accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of pushing Israel towards international isolation.
Critics have linked the concerns to Israel’s policies in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Netanyahu acknowledged around a year ago that Israel was facing a form of international isolation.
According to Palestinian figures, Netanyahu’s government has approved 104 new settlements since taking office in late 2022.
The same figures say Israeli settlers have also established around 160 agricultural outposts in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission reported 3,488 settler attacks during the first half of 2026.
According to the commission, those attacks killed 17 Palestinians.
They also fully or partially displaced 26 Bedouin and pastoral communities.
The commission documented 42 new settlement outposts during the same period.
Palestinian figures estimate that around 750,000 Israeli settlers live in 194 settlements and 400 outposts across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Israel has occupied the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since 1967.
Most of the international community considers Israeli settlements in the occupied territories illegal under international law.
Israel rejects that position and disputes the legal characterisation of its settlement policy.
The reported order against the British consulate comes as Britain increases diplomatic pressure over settlement expansion.
The development could further strain relations between London and the Israeli government.
