Osnabrueck stunned Bayern after only five minutes when Robin Meissner produced a superb long-range finish.
His dipping effort from outside the box gave the second-division side an early lead. However, Bayern quickly regained control and showed why they remain one of Germany’s strongest teams.
Kane equalised after smashing home a rebound. Six minutes later, Tom Bischof completed Bayern’s comeback with another close-range finish.
The visitors continued to control the match after taking the lead. Michael Olise then added a third goal in the 73rd minute.
Finally, Kane converted a penalty four minutes before full time to complete the 4-1 victory.
The brace took Kane’s Bayern Munich tally to 148 goals in 150 appearances across all competitions.
The England captain joined Bayern from boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. Since then, he has established himself as one of the club’s most prolific attacking players.

Reflecting on the difficult start, Kane praised Osnabrueck’s atmosphere and Bayern’s response.
“It’s never easy at an away ground with a very good atmosphere,” Kane said.
“They started the game with an amazing goal, and we had to stay calm. I’m happy we got the win.”
Bayern Munich have won the German Cup 21 times. Despite their dominance, the club suffered an early exit from the competition in 1994.
This time, the holders avoided another first-round upset. Moreover, their recovery at Osnabrueck underlined their ability to respond under pressure.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund also advanced on Tuesday. Dortmund defeated fifth-division amateur side HEBC 5-0 in Hamburg.
Bayern will now turn their attention back to their wider season campaign after successfully beginning their German Cup defence.
