The Korangi-Landhi Flyover has been completed at a cost of more than Rs746.6 million, with Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab inaugurating the project on Saturday.
Built on 12,000 Road in Korangi No. 5, the 515-metre flyover aims to improve traffic movement between Korangi, Landhi and surrounding industrial areas.
The project recorded 100% physical completion by August 2026. Financial progress, however, stood at 97.24%, according to details shared by the Sindh government.
The new structure includes a 240-metre-long and 7.5-metre-wide bridge.
Its up-ramp stretches 156 metres, while the down-ramp measures 119 metres.
Officials expect the project to reduce pressure on busy roads and make daily travel easier for residents and workers.

Better road links could also support commercial activity in the surrounding industrial zones.
The Sindh government completed the project through its Works and Services Department.
During the inauguration, Nasir Hussain Shah announced that Rs4 billion had been allocated for infrastructure development in the Korangi and Landhi industrial areas.
Each industrial area will receive Rs2 billion under the development package.
Shah said better infrastructure could help industries expand their operations and create more employment opportunities.
He added that the government wanted to support industrialists by improving basic facilities in major industrial zones.
According to the minister, the development programme reflects the government’s focus on practical work rather than announcements alone.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab said development activity was continuing across the city.
He pointed to several projects completed or underway in Korangi, including the Korangi Causeway, Taj Haider Flyover, Korangi 2.5 Bridge and Azim Purah Flyover.
The mayor also highlighted the new Korangi-Landhi Flyover as another major addition to the area’s transport network.
He said Shahrah-e-Bhutto would also begin from Korangi.
Wahab added that the Rs4 billion industrial-area package would improve infrastructure and support business activity in Korangi and Landhi.
The mayor said development should not focus only on roads and bridges.
Instead, infrastructure projects should improve mobility, connect communities and support economic activity.
Better transport links can help workers reach industrial areas more easily. At the same time, businesses can benefit from improved movement of goods and services.
Wahab said the government wanted Karachi to become a better, more modern and more attractive city.
During the ceremony, both officials discussed the Sindh government’s health initiatives.
Shah said the provincial government was supporting the Indus Hospital and was also developing an autism centre in Korangi’s Shahrah-e-Bhutto area.
The proposed centre will be called Inclusive City.
Wahab said Sindh had started work on an autism centre several years ago.
He also highlighted facilities at the Sindh Institute of Child Health, which he said has more than 100 ventilators.
The completion of the Korangi-Landhi Flyover adds another transport link to one of Karachi’s major industrial zones.
The government expects improved connectivity to reduce commuting difficulties for citizens and industrial workers.
Furthermore, officials believe better roads can encourage commercial activity and support new employment opportunities.
The Rs4 billion development package is expected to complement the flyover by improving infrastructure inside the Korangi and Landhi industrial areas.
With the flyover now operational, attention will turn to the wider development programme and its impact on traffic, businesses and workers across the two industrial districts.
