Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi visited Memon Mosque at Bolton Market in Karachi and led a procession marking Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, calling for greater peace, tolerance and brotherhood in society. Speaking on the occasion, the governor conveyed his greetings to Muslims across Pakistan and the wider Islamic world on the blessed occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The Eid Milad-un-Nabi gathering focused on the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and their relevance to contemporary society. The governor said Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was sent as a mercy to all worlds and that his life provides a complete example of compassion, justice, peace, brotherhood and guidance for humanity.

Governor urges society to follow teachings of Prophet ﷺ

Addressing participants, Hashmi said the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ should not remain limited to religious occasions but should become part of everyday life.

He urged people to create ease for one another, respect others and promote tolerance and patience in their communities.

According to the governor, the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasises love, humanity, mutual respect and brotherhood. Following these principles, he said, can help strengthen peace and social harmony.

He also called for the message of brotherhood, compassion and peaceful coexistence to be promoted during Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ celebrations.

Hashmi said the Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ offers humanity a model of justice, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

He encouraged citizens to demonstrate these values through their actions and interactions with others, particularly by showing respect and understanding toward people from different backgrounds.

The governor said society could overcome divisions and promote harmony by adopting the principles taught by the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

He also emphasised the importance of making life easier for others and fostering an environment based on mutual respect, patience and tolerance.

Governor begins address with Quranic verse

The governor began his remarks with the recitation of the Quranic verse:

“وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ”

The verse highlights the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a mercy to all the worlds.

The Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ event at Memon Mosque brought together participants to mark the blessed occasion and reflect on the teachings and character of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

Hashmi said the true spirit of the occasion should be reflected through actions that promote peace, compassion, brotherhood and social responsibility.

He called on citizens to carry these values beyond the celebrations and incorporate them into their daily lives, saying that a society guided by the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ can strengthen unity, tolerance and mutual harmony.
