PSX opened Tuesday on a weak note. The KSE-100 Index fell 42.39 points to 178,157.63 at the start. Investors stayed cautious due to mixed global signals.
The market recovered soon after opening. Selective buying lifted the index to 178,422.70 by 10:19am, a gain of 222.68 points. However, the rise did not last long.

PSX came under stronger pressure after midday. The KSE-100 Index dropped to 177,666.74 by 1:24pm. It lost 533.28 points, or 0.30%, from the previous close.
The index moved between 178,768.83 and 177,738.34 during the session. This wide range showed strong volatility. Trading activity stayed moderate. About 186.36 million shares changed hands. The total value reached Rs11.38 billion.
Asian markets also stayed unstable. Investors reacted to mixed US corporate earnings. They also watched technology and AI-related stocks closely.
Oil prices rose after reports of attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This added pressure on global markets. It also increased uncertainty for local investors.
