The Basketball Camp organized by the Sindh Basketball Association concluded with a grand ceremony in Karachi, where DIG Traffic Karachi and Chairman Sindh Police Sports Board Syed Pir Muhammad Shah reaffirmed his commitment to promoting basketball and other sports across Sindh.

Held at the International Abdul Nasser Basketball Court in Aram Bagh, the closing ceremony took place under the patronage of Ghulam Muhammad Khan, patron of the Sindh Basketball Association. Participants, officials, and guests celebrated the successful completion of the Berger Paints Girls and Boys Basketball Coaching Camp with enthusiastic chants in support of Pakistan and its armed forces.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Syed Pir Muhammad Shah said he considers serving sports a responsibility and an act of public service. He stressed that countries with active sports grounds produce healthier communities and reduce social problems.

He praised the Sindh Basketball Association for organizing coaching camps in Karachi, Sukkur, and Larkana. He also pledged continued support for future initiatives that encourage youth participation in sports.

Shah said the Sindh government, including the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and Commissioner Karachi, wants to expand sports opportunities for young people. He added that he would fully support efforts to provide healthy recreational activities throughout the province.

Pakistan Basketball Welfare Foundation Secretary General Asghar Azeem criticized attempts to establish parallel basketball associations in Sindh. He claimed such efforts aimed to disrupt the progress of basketball in the province but expressed confidence that the sports community and media would continue supporting the game’s development.

Renowned television actor Kashif Khan, who presided over the ceremony, announced plans to organize an exhibition basketball match featuring artists in collaboration with Ghulam Muhammad Khan to further promote the sport.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan presented an overview of the association’s recent activities and thanked Berger Paints, Lok Sahita, CLYCF, Shahida Parveen Kiani, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Chaudhry, Faisal Bank Vice President Haider Khan, Force Group, and other partners for supporting youth basketball programs.

A Scouts contingent from Shah Faisal Town, led by Director of Education Khursheed Alam Khan, impressed the audience with a disciplined parade during the ceremony.

The event also attracted prominent personalities, including Aamir Sharif, Zahid Malik, Zaima Khatoon, Haji Muhammad Ashraf Yahya, Faisal Ali Khan, Asad Ibad Ali, Malik Nasir, Hakim Buzdar, Aurangzeb, government officials, and members of the sports community.
